Our Project

Our project explores the history of medicine through objects from history. It has been designed to support the Medicine Through Time module from Edexcel’s History GCSE course.

Thirty objects representing five different time periods have been selected, and lessons and course materials are being developed in order to deliver lessons which use the objects as a way to recreate the time periods and explore the past.

About Us

Our Principles

Objects can add a sense of material reality to history that often seems remote. This can facilitate an approach to world building and sense of period ‘from the inside out’. We therefore seek to construct a vivid sense of period around the objects that links both directly to medicine but also has a more general and indirect dimension.
